few months or the last year has been the response to the chris brown thing. as you know, chris brown physically assaulted and he's admitted to it, physically assault rid ana. the first thing black men and black women is she must have done something to cause it, the collective response from men and women was something other than holding him accountable. why does something like that happen? >> think with issues of domestic vealence and sexual violence, there are only two crimes where the victim is blamed for their attack against them, right? with chris brown, we're all sort of conditioned to have this knee-jerk response to blame the victim and there are a couple of reasons why that's true. one, a lot of women may feel that's -- they may feel powerless, they may feel they don't want to over-identify with the victim. therefore there she must have something at fault or something that warrants him beating her. also with the chris brown-rihanna scenario there was an element which is race. charlie sheen is a well-known batterer and yet with white men there is a sense in which they can get away with eve

understand rihanna's relationship with chris brown, because i loved it on some level, but it beat the crap out of me. it is a serious pummeling on the eyes and ears. i wanted to call and report michael bay for assault afterwards. but it's a lot of robots fighting each other, just like the other movies. but with this one, it corrects the mistakes of the second film, which meant that this movie, i could see the robots fighting and the plot made like even the smallest amount of sense, which was good. there was a peculiar thing about it, though, even in opportunity where they just had people -- it seems like the actors stage direction was to seem like they had snorted a lot of cocaine. it was just bonkers. it is insane, it's kind of better as an art installation than an actual movie. but it is really fun and beautiful in 3-d. really good to see it that way. >> so what's your grade on this one? >> this one really hovered on the brink for me. it was b-plus, a-minus, i ended up giving it a b-plus because i had to go do some yoga and calm down. >> it's making me feel like i'm having a heart a
